Main Goal
As a Research Operations Manager for Europe and MERCAT you will be in change of managing our breeding stations in Italy, Turkey, Spain, and Denmark.
Mission:
As a Research Operations Manager you will oversee breeding stations performance, coordination, and management of the local activities in line with the VMK global goals and strategic breeding targets.
Reporting to the Head of Research Operations based in the US, you:
Manage all the internal activities within each assigned breeding stations
- Operational and regulatory aspects/social/labor/environment
- Performance aspect/Lean management
- Key improvement aspect/station objectives/safety/security
- Team management to fit company goals and cost allocation
- Operational expenses
- Long term investments
Manage 4 breeding station managers
- Managing local research operations teams
- Assignment and allocation of local resources to meet company breeding objectives
- Manage team performance and goals
- In collaboration with Human Resources, contribute to the local team/talent development
- Addressing local needs/workers welfare/trainings/site meetings - safety
Global contributions

Job description

Profile
MSc. In Agronomy, Agro-Technology, Biology, Crop mechanization, Crop production or related (Basic understanding or breeding practices or genetics desirable)
5+ years of proven management in international setting or large farming, production operations
Proven record of site and employee management
Proven record of budget management
Proven record of investment management or investment project proposals
Ability to work independently
Ability to work in multicultural settings
Ability to lead teams with goals in mind
English language on profession level (other languages French or Italia or Spanish a plus)
