This is a support role in the execution of routine applied activities in plant pathology, with a primary goal to meet breeder/client demand. The Research Assistant will conduct protocols for routine pathology. In addition, this position will be responsible for conducting phytosanitary monitoring and plant disease diagnostics on local research station.

• Coordinate with breeding team to plan and follow up routine activities on schedule
• Field survey, evaluation and disease sampling.
• Receive, classify, and store samples from other departments.
• Isolate and diagnose plant pathogens using culture and ELISA technique.
• Cultivation and longterm maintain of pathogens and insects.
• Carry out and evaluate artificial disease screening experiments in the growth chamber, field and greenhouse.
• Support phytosanitary monitoring of seed-borne diseases at the research station.
• Monitor Lab equipment and tools, store experimental records, supplies, and labor.
• Continuous improvement activities in research laboratory operating.

• Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) required in plant pathology or microbiological sciences
• 1 year experience in research or applied plant pathology is desirable.
• Experience in microbiology techniques and the use of basic lab equipment
• Careful, hardly , highly disciplined, accepting business trips to the province (maximum 1 week), working in the field, greenhouse and laboratory
• Fluent in English skills (60% of work will be conducted in English)
