Main Goal

The Maize Portfolio manager position aims at maximizing the short/mid/long term business and financial performance of the Crop by:
1) Leading the development and implementation of the Crop Strategy of Limagrain Europe
2) Developing and managing a competitive and profitable Crop varieties portfolio allowing Limagrain Europe to achieve its short/mid/long term business and financial objective for the
crop

Job description

As a Crop Portfolio Manager, you :

1. Lead the multifunctional Crop team and functionally manages its representatives (Research, Marketing, Operations, Business, Finance (and others as appropriate).

2. Directly manage the Corn Development team

3. Lead the development of the Crop strategy (Crop Roadmap), by the definition of European Crop vision and ambition : 3-5 year Market share, volume, price, Cogs, Opex, LAV development

4. Define Portfolio Strategy, develop and manage the Crop portfolio :
- Based on market and competitive landscape analysis, long term trend and key drivers' evaluation, and Limagrain portfolio benchmarking, identify portfolio gaps and needs prioritized according to geographies/markets strategy
- Define required products ideotypes by segments
- Prepare, organize, and lead the Crop Review
- Organize new products testing, performance evaluation, selection and applications.
- Manage product life cycle
- Define optimum technical positioning of Limagrain products
- Drive licensing agreements, in and out

5. Contribute to the development of the supply strategy and to the S&OP process for the Crop :
- Identify and support implementation of projects to optimize operations: cogs, inventory, and obsolescence management
- Challenge Sales forecast
- Lead Crop Plan for commercial varieties and basic seeds
- Propose allocation strategy and decide availability allocation arbitration

6. Monitor the Crop Performance : Pilot Crop performance through a set of KPI's,…

7. Provide Orientation to the Business Areas

As a Leadership Team Leader :

1. Leadership / Managing: Communicate, Delegate responsibilities, Decide and act effectively, be consistent with the company's strategy

Profile

Graduated from a Master's degree in Agronomy and a minimum of 10 years' experience in sales, marketing or development in seed industry, you have a cross functional view and expertise of the Maize crop.
Fluent in English, you have a strong marketing/business acquaintance, and a deep agronomic knowledge. You understand the Research, Production and Supply chain in seed industry. You have a understanding of basic Finance and MS office skills.
You demonstrate an ability to work in a team environment, have a strong leadership and management skills. You are able to lead and influence activities of cross functional teams, you are open minded and customer centric minded.
You have strong strategic, analytical, and negotiation skills, and an ability to prioritize and manage through multiple projects/priorities / deadlines simultaneously.
Position to be filled from April at our head office in Saint Beauzire (63).
Frequents travels in all Europe will be expected
