RESEARCH & INNOVATION - BREEDING
Main Goal
We are looking for a Rapeseed Experimental Manager to join our research program at Verneuil-L'Etang in Seine-et-Marne. Your main mission is to participate in the evaluation of the agronomic behavior of rapeseed varieties.
You will coordinate, set up and control the technical and logistical organization of trials for breeding projects defined by breeders, in order to provide new varieties in line with operational needs.
You work hand in hand with breeders to monitor plots, characterize them and use new phenotyping techniques.
You take part in trial harvesting.
You are responsible for ensuring that data is properly integrated into computer systems for use in breeding.
Job description
Your missions are as follows:
- Liaise with farmers and service providers,
- Select trial sites and plots,
- Ensure the smooth running and participate in the various stages in the field, from sowing to harvesting, with the support of a team dedicated to crop management (sowing, hoeing, tracing alleys, separation, harvesting),
- Carry out notations and enter data into the computer system,
- Use new phenotyping technologies to characterize varieties,
- Validate the consistency of phenotypic data produced,
- Perform sampling and prepare post-harvest analyses,
- Develop the experimentation network,
- Organize seed logistics between France and the countries involved in the breeding program,
- Manage a team of seasonal workers and plan their activities for field work.
Skills: what we expect of you
You have a degree in agronomy or an equivalent field, or an agricultural engineering diploma. Initial work experience (including an apprenticeship) in variety experimentation is a plus, although applications from recent graduates are welcome. A strong interest in driving agricultural machinery and new technologies is desirable.
You enjoy working in the field and making observations. You can follow a conversation and interact with people in English. Rigor, team spirit and organizational skills are key to success in this position.

Recruitment process
Our recruitment process consists of several stages:
- the first consists of a pre-screening of applications by Jérémy, our Talent Acquisition Manager, accompanied by future manager Pierre-Gilles, to establish a shortlist of candidates for audition. A telephone pre-qualification may be carried out.
- A first interview is organized with the future manager.
- A second HR interview follows shortly afterwards.
Finally, feedback is given to the candidates. Various tests may also be considered (language, personality, etc.).
