Finalité du poste
As a global Seed Company, Vilmorin Mikado has strong basis over the 5 continents and offers a wide and original high-quality range to all the professionals of the vegetable chain. Vilmorin-Mikado is specialized in the creation, production and marketing of vegetable and tree seeds and is entirely dedicated to agricultural professionals.
As a part of the Marketing team, you will be asked to support the growth of our Tomato specie by recommending and managing the global strategy and development on your perimeter.
Missions
Crop Strategy:
To orientate our research programs on Tomato crop: to recommend the Tomato crop strategy and its execution across the Business Unit (ambition and market share targets; direction for marketing, research, seed tech and development; action plans, follow-up and corrective actions).
To animate Development and Sales teams to deliver the plan and to support business activation.
To ensure the growth and the profitability of the Tomato crop through market share increase and new products launching.
To lead the Mid-term plan process and targets for the Tomato crop.
Market intelligence:
To permanently show a deep and updated knowledge of the Tomato markets on your perimeter and define the future trends and requests (agronomy, customers, consumers)
Lifecycle and Products’ management:
In collaboration with other divisions, to manage products life cycle and the products range at worldwide level, within the objective of turnover and margin growth, with the support of NPI flow Manager, Production, Development and Regional Crop Specialists.
To lead NPI process (New Product Introduction) and the decision-making on products’ advancement. To coordinate and animate development plans for new products with the Breeders, Development teams and Regional Crop Specialists.
To recommend the global positioning of the varieties (targeted markets, Rock bottom price per area, Development targets in terms of countries and customers, selection of pictures…).
To maintain proactivity on stock management and actively participate to Production plans and Excess management recommendation and follow-up.
To be accountable of markets’ requirements in terms of quality and ensure their respect through Quality Chart.
Business outlooks:
To be accountable for the overall profitability of the crop (She/he is in charge of the crop’s “bottom line”).
To support Sales teams with appropriate recommendation in terms of Go-to-market approaches, added-value pricing approaches, new concepts, commercial and technical information.
To ensure and bring inputs for the activation of the 4 Ps (Product, Price, Promotion, Place) on the crop.
To provide new business opportunities with a customer-orientation and anticipate risks with corrective actions.
Innovation:
To ensure growth with innovation, by developing new concepts and new products in collaboration with Breeders, local Development & Sales teams, Regional Crop Specialists, Downstream and key accounts responsibles.
Products’ Communication:
To define the products allocation per brand for his/her crop, in consistency with company’s performance needs.
To take accountability on communication messages for his/her crop and to ensure suitable plans locally, to supervise their implementation in collaboration with Product Development Manager or local Communication team.
Profil
The candidate must have a Master degree in Agriculture or in Business. Acting frequently as a project leader, the person should have a strong cross functional leadership, being inspiring and a change agent. He/she should know how to motivate a team, be business oriented, shaving a strategic vision , with good negotiating skills; and ready to travel regularly (30 to 40% of the time). A good knowledge of the seed business and a previous experience in Strategic marketing is a significant plus.
