Main Goal
Within the Maize Research Department, we are looking for a Maize Seed Production Research Technician.
Reporting to the Seed Production Manager, you will participate in various tasks both at the station and in the field.
Your Responsibilities
Your main duties will include:
Managing a sector for crop monitoring (detasseling/irrigation) in collaboration with farmers.
Conducting ratings and observations in our production plots.
Organizing planting/harvesting operations.
Participating in processing operations (sorting, threshing, packaging).
Managing seasonal workers assigned to seed production activities and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Preparing end-of-season results/summaries and participating in departmental work meetings.

Skills: what we expect of you
Do you have a higher education qualification equivalent to a BAC +2 to BAC +3 degree, or relevant experience?
Do you hold a standard driving license (a category EB license would be a plus)?
Do you have strong agronomic knowledge and an interest in outdoor work?
Are you rigorous, autonomous, a good communicator, with strong observation skills, a good sense of synthesis, a proven ability to supervise seasonal staff, and a strong team spirit?

If, in addition, you are comfortable with IT tools, particularly the Microsoft Office suite, and are open to learning new software,
then you are the candidate we are looking for!
This position is available as a 12-month fixed-term contract at our site in Longué-Jumelles (49), near Saumur.
